Regain Your Confidence and Stability
Feeling dizzy, unsteady, or off-balance can be unsettling. These symptoms may be related to your vestibular system.
Our physiotherapists are able provide individualised assessment and evidence-based treatment to help you determine the potential cause of your symptoms and restore your sense of balance, coordination, and confidence in movement.
What is the Vestibular System?
Your vestibular system, located within your inner ear, works with your eyes and muscles to maintain balance and spatial awareness. When it’s not functioning properly, it can result in symptoms such as dizziness, spinning sensations (vertigo), or unsteadiness.
Common Causes We Can Help With
- Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV)
- Vestibular neuritis / labyrinthitis
- Cervicogenic (neck related) dizziness
- Meniere’s disease and motion sensitivity:
- Persistent Postural-Perceptual Dizziness (PPPD)
Potential Physiotherapy Treatment Options
- Canalith repositioning maneuvers (e.g. Epley technique)
- Gaze stabilisation and eye-head coordination exercises
- Balance and gait retraining
- Habituation and desensitisation programs
- Neck and posture correction
- Education and self-management strategies
- Your program is designed to restore confidence, reduce dizziness, and help you safely return to everyday activities.
What to Expect
A comprehensive vestibular assessment will typically assess your vestibular system, balance assessment, cervical spine, and neck range of motion testing.
Based on the assessment the clinician can determine the best and most evidence-based treatment for you.
