Do I need a doctor's referral?

You do not need a referral to see a physiotherapist. However, sometimes a referral is useful for the physios and they may request a medical history, especially if you take medications, have a history of surgery, cancer, or other procedures.

If you have a referral, please bring it with you.

What types of health insurance do you accept?

We accept all Private Health insurance and can claim on-the-spot through our HICAPS.

All of our services are claimable through Private Health however, please note that for remedial massage, the practitioner has to be affiliated with your private health for you to claim. Please call reception for further information.

What is your new patient procedure?

New patients are welcome. When making your appointment reception will ask you for a little background information to help determine who to see and the urgency of the appointment. You will receive a reminder text the business day before your appointment (and over the weekend if your appointment is on a Monday).

Please arrive 5 minutes before your appointment to fill out registration paperwork and give reception any documentation you may have (referral/Care Plan/x-ray results etc).

Please bring a towel with you.

Can I claim my appointment through Medicare?

GP Management Plan, Team Care Arrangement, Chronic Disease Management and Enhances Care Plan

One-on-one consults are claimable through Medicare if you have a plan from your GP. Payment for the appointment must be made in full before the rebate can be claimed, which can be done on the day through our HICAPS machine. The standard Medicare rebate is $55.10. Please ensure you have your Medicare card and a savings or cheque card to process the rebate on the day of the appointment. Please note we are not a Bulk Billing clinic and there will be and out of pocket costs.

The care plan does not cover group classes.

What is the cancellation policy?

Cancellation must be communicated to us 12 hours before your appointment time. Less than 12 hours notice may incur a fee depending on the type of appointment.

Class cancellations must be received 12 hours before the class. Late notice cancellations and no shows will be counted as one of the sessions in your pack.

Can I claim classes through private health insurance?

All classes, including treatment and specialist classes provided at MPFP, are claimable through Private Health Insurance. This includes Group Physio classes, Bubs N Bellies, Baby Boot Camp and Pregnancy Education classes.

Single Exercise Class – you can claim through PHI on the day of the class through our HICAPS machine.

Class Packs – You can only claim your private health insurance at the completion of your pack as you need proof of attendance. Request a receipt of the classes you attended from reception. You will receive two receipts, one with the pack payment and the other with the proof of attendance. Please submit both of these directly to your PHI through their app or website.

*Please note that pre-payment for education class is required and we are therefore unable to put it through your private health insurance on the day of the class. You can ask reception for a receipt to claim directly through your private health insurance.

Do you see patients for NDIS, Workcover, TAC and DVA?
